Environmental protection, ecological sustainability, and green financing initiatives are among the main priorities in Azerbaijan's economic development concept, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov said at the Industrial Safety Summit held in Baku, Report informs.
Karimov stated that the application of modern management tools in industrial enterprises' operations is in focus to increase environmental responsibility:
"Green financing plays a special role in these processes. Projects implemented within this framework serve to reduce production costs, efficient use of resources, and ensure environmental safety. This creates conditions for continuing socioeconomic reforms in the country, forming an innovative economy, and strengthening the country's position in international ratings. In modern times, increasing effective cooperation between state and public sectors, expanding the exchange of information, experience, and ideas contributes significantly to the country's social-economic development."
"Ensuring green growth and protecting environmental safety are particularly important within this cooperation framework. Environmental protection, ecological sustainability, and green financing initiatives are among the main priorities in Azerbaijan's economic development concept. In this regard, it is considered essential for production enterprises to conduct their activities in accordance with legislation, increase energy efficiency, and use natural resources efficiently.
At the same time, important goals are set for enterprises to ensure occupational safety and worker health for sustainable development while increasing environmental efficiency and reducing production costs," the deputy minister said.
