Turkish Deputy Minister of Trade Mustafa Tuzcu, who arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in COP29, said that member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) will coordinate their policies in accordance with green transformation requirements and share experience in this field, Report informs referring to Haber Global.
Mustafa Tuzcu noted that he met with the ministers of economy and trade from OTS countries. The meeting participants discussed issues of environment, digital economy, and development.
The deputy minister reminded that agreements on trade facilitation and digital economic partnership were signed between OTS countries, which have recently become a significant regional integration organization.
"We signed an important declaration in Baku. OTS member countries will coordinate their policies in accordance with green transformation requirements, share experience in this field, and simultaneously seek access to financial resources for joint actions in green transformation and climate change combat," he said.
He emphasized that Türkiye has significant capabilities and accumulated experience, especially within the Customs Union and as a result of EU green legislation: "Türkiye wants to share its experience with brotherly countries."
The Turkish Deputy Minister of Trade expressed satisfaction that COP29 is being held in Azerbaijan: "Fighting climate change is possible through regional and international cooperation. We want and expect that cooperation between OTS countries will become an example for other international organizations."
