I’ve just arrived at the iconic Heydar Aliyev Centre, which was designed by the great British architect Zaha Hadid, and I’m pleased to see that our famous London electric taxis are helping to cut carbon emissions in Baku", UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Minister for European Neighborhood Wendy Morton said during her visit to Azerbaijan, Report informs.
"This morning I met with President Aliyev to discuss how the UK can work with Azerbaijan to embrace renewable energy and build back greener following Covid-19 and the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh", - Minister added.
"There are so many opportunities for our countries to work together to tackle climate change ahead of COP26, the global climate change summit that the UK is hosting in November this year.
The UK is ready to support Azerbaijan’s transition to renewable energy and achieve ambitious climate goals, including an even larger reduction in carbon emissions by 2030", - Wendy Morton said.
