“We must apply modern methods and technologies for the collection, sorting, transportation and disposal of medical waste,” Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, COP29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev told the International Forum “Green World Solidarity: Waste to Value for a Sustainable Future”, Report informs.
According to him, proper management of medical waste is also of particular importance: “Medical waste can pose a serious threat to the environment and human health. Therefore, we must apply modern methods and technologies for the collection, sorting, transportation and disposal of medical waste.”
Babayev said that the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry is working hard to raise awareness in terms of creating waste sorting practices, collecting batteries, glass, plastic and other types of recyclable waste and redirecting them to recycling.
