Minister: Azerbaijan continues to fulfill obligations on sustainable development

Actions taken towards implementation of obligations arising from the agenda of sustainable development in Azerbaijan continue, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev said at an event on the "Green transformation in Azerbaijan: Sustainable Development Goals.

According to the minister, ensuring a clean and healthy environment, which is mentioned in the sustainable development agenda until 2030, is a critical factor for achieving sustainable development at all levels:

"Establishing the National Coordination Council for Sustainable Development has enabled intersectoral coordination and the involvement of all stakeholders in the process. In the 'Azerbaijan-2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development' document approved by the head of state, the important task of ensuring a quality ecological environment against the background of stable and high-speed growth of the economy at the new strategic stage was set."
