Russia and Azerbaijan are creating a bilateral working group to address issues related to the shallowing of the Caspian Sea, and intend to later transform it into a five-party format, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference in Moscow, responding to a question from Report.
"We are now creating a bilateral working group and want to propose converting it into a five-party format so that all Caspian coastal states can participate in this work. We are certainly cooperating in the international arena as well," noted the foreign minister.
He added that contacts have been established between Baku and Moscow, and practical steps are being taken to strengthen cooperation in security, counter-terrorism and organized crime, as well as interaction between armed forces and special services.
