Israeli expert examines 10 brown bears in Altiagac sanctuary

Azerbaijan and Israel have agreed to establish cooperation between experts to improve the living conditions and treatment of bears, Report informs referring to the Embassy of Israel in Azerbaijan.

The embassy has initiated a visit of the chief veterinarian of the Safari zoo in Israel and Director of the Israel Wild life hospital Yigal Horovitz to Azerbaijan.

Together with Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy Doron Pe’er, Horovitz visited the site the bear sanctuary in Altiagac in Khizi on March 14, and examined 10 brown bears.

“Horovitz had a constructive dialogue with Farid Mansurov - President of GWARP (Good World Animal Rescue & Protection Inc ) and Kamilla Mishiyeva - VP of GWARP, who are managing the sanctuary and agreed to continue this cooperation in order to improve the life conditions and medical treatment of the bears, and to create a cooperation between experts of the two countries,” reads the message.
