FAO representative: Turkiye actively participates in forestry protection

Turkiye actively participates in the protection of forestry, Viorel Gutu, representative of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Turkiye, said at the FAO regional seminar held in Baku, Report informs.

According to him, these projects implemented in Turkiye cover many areas - from the protection of forests to the solution of global problems related to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals:

"But we cannot implement the issues related to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Adverse impacts such as hunger and poverty make our work even more difficult. Moreover, the number of challenges before us is increasing. We have to work harder and overcome difficulties for a better life. Due to all this, the Turkish experience makes a notable contribution to the development of our activities in forestry."

Gutu said he believes that partners, including Azerbaijan, will support the efforts of FAO and contribute to the current challenges.
