Against the backdrop of global processes, fundamental changes must be made to the climate agenda, Chairman of the Environment Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Mehmet Galip Ensarioglu stated at Baku Climate Action Week, Report informs.
According to him, in this sense, climate solidarity among countries is necessary during the preparation period for COP31 (to be held in November in Türkiye - ed.):
"One of the examples in this context can be considered the experience of Türkiye in recent years. Over the past 10 years, a number of decisions have been adopted in our country within the international climate policy. In this context, the adoption of the first climate law in 2025 can be especially noted."
Ensarioglu also stated the need to strengthen international cooperation on this issue, as well as interaction on climate problems at the parliamentary level.
He added that COP31 in Türkiye will serve as a platform for international cooperation on climate issues.
