Azerbaijani MP Parvana Valiyeva has called on Iran to pay attention to the pollution of the Araz River by Armenia, Report informs.
Parvana Valiyeva made this statement during the presentation of the digital map of Armenia’s mineral resources.
"The Araz River also flows through Iran, and Armenia's mining industry is seriously polluting it. Iran should be concerned about this issue," she said.
Valiyeva emphasized that the Environmental Protection First digital map provides clear evidence of Armenia's environmental pollution in the region, and the international community must take notice.
"We must present this map to international organizations focused on environmental protection. Additionally, Armenia must allow Azerbaijani and foreign NGOs to conduct ecological monitoring at its industrial sites," the MP added.
According to Valiyeva, Azerbaijan has repeatedly reached out to Armenian NGOs regarding this issue but has received no response. She also noted that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been ignoring appeals from Azerbaijani civil society and representatives from dozens of countries for nearly two years.
