Azerbaijan’s Lachin hosts meeting of working group on environmental issues

A regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Center's Working Group on Environmental Issues, operating under the Coordination Headquarters established for centralized resolution of issues in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, is underway in the city of Lachin.

Report informs that the meeting is chaired by Vugar Karimov, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources.

The meeting is attended by representatives of relevant state agencies represented in the Working Group and the Special Representatives of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Lachin, Shusha, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Fuzuli, Khojavand, Jabrayil, Gubadly and Zangilan districts, Khankandi city, Aghdara and Khojaly districts, as well as representatives of Restoration, Construction and Management Services.

During the meeting, members of the Working Group and representatives of other invited organizations provide information on the implementation status of environmental requirements during infrastructure projects in Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions, the current state of ore, non-ore, fresh and thermal mineral water deposits and springs, and their usage prospects, results of electronic cadastral registration of lands, and the creation of new green areas to replace forest areas affected by the construction of Lachin airport. The meeting also discusses issues related to the implementation of tasks given by the coordination headquarters to strengthen communication and coordinate activities between relevant agencies to improve the situation with solid household waste in the liberated regions.
