US representatives informed about Azerbaijan's landmine problem

The delegation consisting of the assistants of the members of the US Congress was informed about the landmine problem in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told Report.

It was noted that Samir Poladov, Deputy Chairman of ANAMA Board of Directors, informed about the date of establishment, goals and tasks of the agency, the humanitarian demining operations carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, as well as the scale of the landmine problem in the country and the consequences caused by this problem.

The questions of the delegation about the international cooperation of the Agency with 25 years of experience in the field of humanitarian demining, the exchange of experience in this direction, the inaccuracy of the forms of minefields presented by Armenia, and the discovered trap-type explosive devices were answered and extensive information was presented to them.
