"The glorious victory in the Patriotic War achieved by the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Victorious Commander-in-chief Ilham Aliyev has demonstrated the strength of our state, the will of our people," Soltan Mammadov, a member of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) Committee on Labor and Social Policy, told Report.
He noted that state care for the families of martyrs and veterans who ensured this victory is one of the priority directions of social policy: "To date, more than 10,000 families of martyrs and war disabled people have been provided with apartments by the state, and this process continues. The main goal is to strenthen the social protection of the citizens from this category. The President repeatedly emphasized the importance of showing special sensitivity towards the families of martyrs and war disabled people. State institutions base their activities on the instructions and recommendations of the President of Azerbaijan. In the post-war period, 103,000 social payments were set for 93,000 citizens who are the family members of martyrs and war participants, 3,500 people have been provided with housing. At the same time, more than 75 million manats in funds collected by the YASHAT Foundation are used to solve the problems of our people who are included in this category."
Mammadov said that there is a special attitude to the families of martyrs and war participants in Azerbaijan: "In addition to the social support measures implemented by the state, separate citizens, legal entities and individuals are also trying to contribute to this process. I think that Azerbaijan is a country with a strong economy and a powerful army, and is one of the countries that strive to ensure the principles of social justice to the maximum. As the President of Azerbaijan also noted, the citizen factor is at the center of our state's policy."
