The excavations and monitoring conducted by the State Commission with the participation of experts in the liberated territories this year revealed that in the period from the signing of the trilateral declaration in November 2020 to the start of the anti-terrorist operation in September 2023, the separatist regime deliberately destroyed several mass graves in Karabakh, the locations of which are known to the State Commission and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Ali Nagiyev, Chairman of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, at an International Conference on "Addressing the problem of missing persons: upholding 'the right to know' for the families", cited the example of the mass graves known to the State Commission in the village of Garadaghly (Khojavand district), the village of Dahraz (Khojaly district) and the village of Sirkhavand (Aghdara district).
"These and other mass graves were deliberately destroyed by Armenians to hide traces of their war crimes. These facts are a vivid example of disrespect for international law, as well as for the families of missing persons and humanity in general," he said.
