Some 91.2% of Azerbaijani citizens fully trust the president - poll

The Center for Social Research has released the findings of a public opinion poll conducted over the performance of President Ilham Aliyev. Report informs that respondents assessed the public and political activities of the president in the second half of this year.

91.2% of the respondents stated that they completely trust the president, and 6.9% mostly trust the head of state.

A significant part of the respondents believes that the Shusha Declaration will elevate relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey to the level of military alliance (60.4%), will bring bilateral cooperation in the military, defense, and security spheres to a new level (61.6%), and will serve as an example in the context of the interests of the Turkic world and Turkish solidarity (50.6%).

The respondents expressed confidence that with the start of the functioning of the Zangazur transport corridor, Azerbaijan's communications with its exclave - Nakhchivan, and the fraternal country of Turkey will strengthen (74%), serve to strengthen unity in the Turkic world (54.7%), and provide Nakhchivan's access to the East-West, North-South transport corridors (53.5%), will provide Turkey and Azerbaijan with direct access to the Turkic world (34.8%).

The respondents considered the opening of the Fuzuli international airport, the planning of the construction of airports in Zangilan and Lachin as a positive phenomenon in the context of the development of the tourism sector in Azerbaijan (75.9%), the contribution to the economic development of the region (57.3%), faster trips to Karabakh (52.7 %) and employment support (25.5%).

According to the poll, the president, as the architect of the victory, by his intensive speeches on global platforms successfully promotes the history of the victory at the international level (93.6%), stimulates civic participation and national solidarity in the historicization of the victory (85.7%), and ensures the superiority of Azerbaijan in information policy and opens up new opportunities for the activities in this direction (85.7%), strengthens resistance to attempts and external influences that run counter to Azerbaijan's national interests (81.9%).
