Russian observer: These are historic elections held across entire sovereign territory of Azerbaijan

Sergey Markov, Russian observer and Director of the Center for Political Studies, declared at a press conference that the recent parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan were historic, as they were held across the entire territory of Azerbaijan, including Karabakh and the 7 districts previously under occupation.

Markov stated, "Our group of independent observers from the Russian Federation included more than 10 people. We visited around 15 polling stations. The result of these observations is reflected in the report, which will be presented to the media."

According to Markov, the outcome of the observation is quite clear - the elections were held in full compliance with the laws of Azerbaijan and can be fully described as free, democratic, legitimate, fair, and competitive. He emphasized that they fully meet the requirements of international organizations that have been developed over the past decades for various types of elections, and most importantly, these elections fully reflect the will of the people of Azerbaijan.

Markov added one recommendation, suggesting that stricter monitoring should be in place to ensure that posters featuring all candidates are displayed at polling stations.
