Return to Fuzuli begins

On August 5, the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons held a drawing of lots between the families that will be resettled in Fuzuli at the first stage.

Report has learned from the State Committee that the event was attended by representatives of the special representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the territories liberated from occupation, which are part of the Karabakh economic region (with the exception of the Shusha region), and the executive power of the Fuzuli region.

The draw involved 144 families of 509 people. In accordance with the number of family members, 51 families are provided with two-room, 76 with three-room and 17 with four-room apartments. These families still live in the cities of Baku and Sumgayit, in places of temporary settlement on the territory of the Absheron district.

The former IDPs, who will soon return to Fuzuli for permanent residence, expressed their deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the conditions created in the territories liberated from occupation and care for the IDPs.
