In Azerbaijan, everyone, regardless of religious and national affiliation, enjoys equal rights, Ramin Mammadov, chairman of the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Work with Religious Organizations, said at a meeting in the US organized by the Sterling Foundation at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Report informs.
Mammadov spoke about the healthy religious environment and exemplary traditions of coexistence in Azerbaijan, as well as about the measures taken in the country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev to protect tolerant and multicultural values.
He emphasized that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, headed by First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, implements important projects to strengthen this unique environment of tolerance in Azerbaijan.
The meeting was attended by government representatives, experts from research institutes, leaders of religious communities, and civil society organizations.
The meeting participants expressed satisfaction with the care provided in Azerbaijan to representatives of all religious denominations, as well as the work carried out to develop interreligious and intercultural dialogue.
