Presidential Administration official: The Azerbaijani government pays all compensations on time

Baku. 17 December. REPORT.AZ/ "I would not say that the number of complaints to the European Court of Human Rights is increasing. In my opinion, on the contrary, a decline is observed. Reforms in the European Court also allow that the complaints will be considered quicker. Azerbaijan defends its own interests and position in the European Court," Chingiz Asgarov, Head of the Human Rights Protection Sector of the Department on Work with Law Enforcement Agencies at the Presidential Administration, Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the European Court of Human Rights said.

Asgarov said that everything is on the order in the fulfillment of the decisions of the European Court on Azerbaijan: "Individual and general measures are being taken in this regard. The Azerbaijani government pays all the compensation. There is no deadlines on payment for compensation. However, there is such an order in the decisions of the European Court that if the compensation is not repaid within 3 months, a small amount of interest will be received on that amount. This does not impose legal obligations on States to pay such a compensation in the shortest possible time."
