A year and a half have passed since the Second Karabakh War. Military experts, people dealing with this issue, are still talking about the victory of Azerbaijan, and I am asked many questions about this issue, about the war, about our victory," President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said, speaking to the personnel of the Defense Ministry's Special Forces Unit N on April 30 on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the establishment of the Special Forces, Report informs.
"What factors conditioned this victory? The first among them is patriotism," the head of state said.
"We have demonstrated to the whole world that we are a great nation, and we have fought the war with dignity. While the enemy was defeated on the battlefield, our cities and villages were fired upon. More than a hundred civilians, including children and women, lost their lives under this cowardly fire. We fought a war with dignity, and during the war, I said that we would take revenge on the battlefield. We have never fought and will never fight civilians," the President said.
"The whole world recognizes that Azerbaijanis fought with dignity, fought bravely," the head of state said.
