President of Azerbaijan: Everyone is equal before the law

"Unfortunately, in some cases, officials appointed by me, instead of fulfilling their duties, engaged in illegal activities, corruption, and bribery," Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.

According to Report, the head of state spoke during a meeting with Joshgun Jabrayilov, the new head of the Executive Power of the Nizami district of Baku, Elgin Habibullayev, who was appointed head of the Executive power of the Narimanov district of Baku, and Elkhan Ibrahimov, the new head of the Executive power of the Kurdamir district.

"They embezzled the wages of those who were involved by the state in public works. This immorality did not go unnoticed. As you know, many heads of executive power have been prosecuted, many of them have already been convicted, and some are still under criminal investigation. This applies not only to the heads of executive powers but also to all officials. No one can be above the law. Everyone is equal before the law," the president said.
