A pre-election campaign will begin in Azerbaijan this week in preparation for the snap parliamentary elections, Report informs, citing the country's Central Election Commission.
Pre-election campaigning can be conducted by registered candidates, their authorized representatives, political parties with registered candidates, and blocs of political parties, along with their authorized representatives.
Under the Election Code, campaigning begins 23 days before the voting day and concludes 24 hours before voting starts.
For the snap parliamentary elections, the pre-election campaign will commence on August 9 and will continue until 08:00 (GMT+4) on August 31.
On June 28, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan signed a decree dissolving the 6th convocation Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament) and scheduling snap parliamentary elections for September 1.
