After 30 years, parliamentary elections are being held throughout Azerbaijan, Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsperson) Sabina Aliyeva told journalists, Report informs.
She noted that the Ombudsman's Office together with the Central Election Commission (CEC) organized events to raise public awareness throughout Azerbaijan according to a pre-approved calendar plan: "Observation and monitoring of the process of preparation for the elections was also carried out, including in the liberated territories. Web cameras and ramps were installed at polling stations, and ballots printed in Braille were provided for visually impaired citizens."
Aliyeva noted that employees of the Ombudsman's Office and regional centers will also observe the elections: "Observation and monitoring will be carried out throughout Azerbaijan, in military units, in penitentiary institutions, and their results will be announced to the public."
