Ombudsman: Our cooperation with Council of Europe continues

The Council of Europe has implemented a number of projects with the Ombudsman institution, and our collaboration continues today, Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva said at the event on 20 years of cooperation between the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan.

She noted that the Ombudsman institution, together with the Council of Europe, has implemented some projects for the more efficient provision of human rights:

"Azerbaijan attaches great importance to friendship and cooperation with all countries. Cooperation with international organizations was the main political course of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Even today, those cooperations are getting stronger. The history of relations between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe began in 1992. These measures are a clear example of the implementation of Azerbaijan's commitments to the Council of Europe. We believe that cooperation and relations will be further strengthened in the future to ensure human rights and freedoms."
