Ombudsman: International institutions must bring criminals to justice

"In today's world, protecting human rights, especially women's rights, is one of the most important issues. These are one of the main directions of state policy. The Ombudsman is an independent institution that protects human rights," the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Azerbaijan Republic Sabina Aliyeva said at a panel on "Human Rights, Democracy and New Challenges in the 21st Century" held within the IX Global Baku Forum.

According to her, the world community has not reacted in any way to the problems facing Azerbaijan for 30 years:

"I have prepared a number of reports on environmental pollution. I believe that international institutions should seriously investigate them and bring the perpetrators to justice."
