Number of registered observers for Azerbaijan's parliamentary elections rising

As many as 2,794 local observers were registered for the upcoming snap parliamentary elections to be held in Azerbaijan on September 1, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said during a CEC meeting today, Report informs.

He noted that 2,562 of the observerswere registered in the CEC.

According to the chairman, 11 observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) have been registered: "International observers are already applying to monitor the elections."
