No negative cases recorded, says polling station chairman in Baku's Sabail district

The voting process at polling station No. 2 of the 7th Sabail Constituency in Azerbaijan's snap parliamentary elections has been proceeding smoothly, with no negative cases recorded so far, station's chairman Suleyman Aliyev told Report.

Aliyev stated that the process is continuing as expected, with observers, including international ones, monitoring the proceedings. "Everything is going well so far," he said.

Aliyev noted that there are two first-time voters aged 18 and above registered at the polling station. "Around 70 people have cast their ballots so far," he added.

Azerbaijan is holding early parliamentary elections after President Ilham Aliyev dissolved the parliament in December 2019, citing the need for reforms. The previous parliamentary elections were held in 2015.

According to the Central Election Commission, over 5.3 million voters are eligible to participate in the snap elections, with more than 1,300 candidates vying for 125 seats in the single-chamber parliament, known as the Milli Majlis.
