NGO chair calls upon world to restore rights of missing persons’ families

Families of the missing persons wish to receive accurate information about the fate of their loved ones, Konul Behbudova, the chairperson of the Karabakh Missing Families Public Union, said in her statement to journalists.

According to Behbudova, as members of missing persons' families, their main goal is to obtain accurate information about the fate of their relatives:

"We are calling out to international organizations to hear our plea. We want our loved ones to finally be buried, to have their own graves."

Behbudova emphasized that the rights of missing persons' families have been violated for more than 30 years in this regard:

"The whole world turns a blind eye to this injustice. Look at the family members of nearly four thousand missing persons, the suffering they endure can be read in their eyes. We have no more strength to endure this.

Our parents passed away prematurely during these years, longing for their missing children. We appeal to international organizations, primarily the UN, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other institutions, and the world community, demanding the restoration of our violated rights."
