Nearly 30,000 people tested for COVID-19 in Azerbaijan

"Current tests were produced in Germany. This needs both finance and time," Yagut Garayeva, department head of the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units in Azerbaijan (TABIB), said in a briefing.

According to her, nearly 30,000 people have been tested for COVID-19 so far in the country.

"The quarantine zones are not recreation centers. We also would like to treat people in their homes. However, it is not correct medically. Therefore, everyone should obey quarantine rules."

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China's Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 200 countries and territories since then.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
