Azerbaijani citizens are actively participating in the extraordinary presidential elections, said the Director General of the Caspian Institute for Strategic Studies, Igor Korotchenko, who observed the election process, Report informs.
"There is no doubt that the choice of the Azerbaijani people on February 7 will demonstrate such standards of democracy that countries that criticize Azerbaijan will learn a lot from it," he stressed.
The political scientist noted that, in the end, the candidate who wins the majority of votes will lead Azerbaijan forward.
Korotchenko emphasized that Azerbaijani society in general understands the logic of the political events taking place and the ongoing processes: "Another factor of voter activity is that for the first time in Azerbaijan, extraordinary presidential elections are held in conditions where the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty are restored and in all regions."
