Italian MP: Azerbaijan parliamentary elections can be called transparent, democratic

Azerbaijan strictly prepared for the snap parliamentary elections, member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Naike Gruppioni said commenting on the results of the elections during a press conference held on September 2, Report informs.

Gruppioni emphasized that the active participation of youth and women in this election was particularly noteworthy. "Moreover, I was delighted by the people's belief in building the future hand in hand. This is the accessibility of the political sphere created by the government for its citizens. I was satisfied with the high level of organization and transparency of the election process. Especially, the presence of women at the polling stations pleased me," she added.

The Italian parliamentarian noted that the organization of exit polls at the polling stations indicates that the authorities conducting the election strived for a transparent process. "I think the opportunities provided to voters should be positively assessed. The full staffing of the polling stations indicates that the process was carried out completely and systematically. This showed that Azerbaijan seriously prepared for the election. Therefore, these elections can be called transparent and democratic," Gruppioni concluded.
