Ilham Aliyev: We want a peace treaty to be signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia

“We are ready for cooperation on the further development of the region. The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia have recently met. During the session of the UN General Assembly, their bilateral meeting took place. Our foreign minister reported to me and said that the meeting was constructive. That’s what we advocate for,” President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting with representatives of the public of the Jabrayil district, Report informs.

“Recently, I have said that I am ready to meet with the prime minister of Armenia. He also said he is ready. What does this mean? This suggests that they already accept our agenda. Some seem to be concerned about this. But the main thing is that peace is established between Azerbaijan and Armenia, that is, a peace treaty is signed. This is what we want,” the president stressed.
