"We must inform the international community about the injustices committed against the Azerbaijani people. The resettlement of Armenia to Azerbaijani lands in the 19th century, early 20th century, in 1920, when the Soviet government seized Zangazur from Azerbaijan and handed it over to Armenia, is a historical fact," President Ilham Aliyev said, addressing the 5th Congress of World Azerbaijanis.
According to Report, the head of state said it is also a documented fact that two years before that, the People's Republic of Azerbaijan granted Yerevan to Armenia:
"In 1921, the Soviet government prepared another provocation against us. Armenians could not Armenianize Shusha," the Azerbaijani leader said.
