The Scud missile launched at Ganja was the first case of usage of ballistic missiles in Europe after the WWII, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev said in a post on X on the fourth anniversary of the first rocket attack of the city of Ganja by the Armenian Armed Forces during the Second Karabakh War, Report informs.

Hajiyev said on October 4, 2020, the Ganja city of Azerbaijan and its civilian population were hit by Scud ballistic missiles launched by Armenia. “The purpose was to cause mass killing among civilians and terror,” the presidential aide stressed.
