The development strategy of modern Azerbaijan was laid down during the presidency of Heydar Aliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov told journalists, Report informs.
He noted that the centenary of the national leader is a special day for all Azerbaijanis.
“More than 100 events are planned this year in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the national leader, most of them have already been held,” he said, adding that Heydar Aliyev made a huge contribution to the creation and development of the committee for work with the Diaspora.
Muradov noted that at the moment the Azerbaijani diaspora is actively involved in the country's public life.
“Today great attention is paid to work with the Diaspora, and this is the merit of Ilham Aliyev,” he added.
According to Muradov, the Congress of World Azerbaijanis held in Shusha last year is a good example of this policy.
