Report's chief: Signing of Armenia-US strategic partnership document at foreign minister level diminishes its importance

The signing of the strategic partnership document between the US and Armenia at the foreign ministers' level effectively diminishes the significance of this document, Fuad Huseynaliyev, director of Report Information Agency, said on ARB24 TV while commenting on Armenia's Foreign Ministry's announcement regarding the signing of a strategic partnership document with the United States.

According to Huseynaliyev, Armenia's haste can be explained by the possibility that when Donald Trump takes the office, such a document would take time to sign:

"If the document is signed, this will be good news for Armenia's domestic audience. Because thoughts about Armenia being a partner with the US, developing its partnership, etc., will be widespread in the country. However, the level of practical implementation raises questions. There might be some form of partnership with Armenia, but it will take a year or two. Because the Trump administration won't have time to deal with Armenia's problems."

Huseynaliyev stated that the signing of this document carries no responsibility for the Biden administration:

"Because this administration will no longer exist in a week. There might be lobby requests or pressure here."
