Foundation of Aghband highway bridge laid on Azerbaijan-Iran border

The foundation of the Aghband highway bridge was laid on the state border with Iran in the territory of the East Zangazur economic region, Report informs, citing AZERTAC.

On September 21, with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Rostam Ghasemi, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Aghband highway bridge, which will be built on the state border with Iran, was held in the territory of the East Zangazur economic region.

The project will create additional opportunities for the countries of the region by serving to increase the potential of the East-West Transport Corridor, as well as the expansion of transport and economic relations.

The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Energy, the State Customs Committee, the State Border Service, the State Agency of Automobile Roads, and Azerbaijan Railways JSC took part in the event.
