Newly appointed high-ranking diplomats from 19 countries have been informed about the implementation of Azerbaijan"s state program of Great Return to the liberated territories.
According to Report, the briefing was delivered by Fuad Huseynov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, during a lecture titled "Resolving the Issue of Internally Displaced Persons in Azerbaijan – Long-term Displacement and Long-awaited Return."
The participants were briefed on the hardships faced by more than one million people who became refugees and internally displaced persons as a result of Armenia"s occupation and deportation policies. It was noted that displaced Azerbaijanis lived for many years in difficult conditions, including unfinished buildings, dormitories, and basements.
Diplomats were also informed that large-scale infrastructure projects are currently being implemented across the liberated territories.
The briefing highlighted Azerbaijan"s experience as a model in addressing the challenges of displaced persons, as well as in post-conflict reconstruction and the reintegration of former IDPs into their native regions.
Information was also presented on the deportation of Azerbaijanis from Western Azerbaijan and alleged crimes committed against the Azerbaijani population.
Following the lecture, a documentary film titled "This is My Home" was screened, featuring a US citizen, Jeyhun Garabagli, visiting his ancestral village of Suleymanly in the Jabrayil district.
Video materials showcasing reconstruction and development works in the liberated territories were also presented, and informational booklets prepared by the State Committee were distributed to participants.
