Demining operations have been launched in four newly liberated villages of Gazakh district, Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told journalists, Report informs.
"We tested the demining equipment for four months. Today, Revival-T and Revival-P machines are used in anti-tank and anti-personnel minesweeping. Along with the equipment, animals are also used in demining, they help speed up our work. Today, eight countries and eight international organizations support ANAMA in demining. However, this support is only 4.4% of the demining process," Suleymanov said.
He noted that the number of ANAMA employees has increased more than fourfold. The number of their supplies and equipment has also increased.
"As for the involvement of new animals in demining, there is no such issue yet. We are working on demining as fast as the reconstruction work is going on. We work according to the tasks and deploy adequate manpower and equipment,” Suleymanov said.
