COP29 Academy opened in Baku

The opening of the COP29 Academy took place in Baku.

Report informs that the COP29 Academy was established in order to ensure the active participation of youth in the fight against climate change, gaining active experience in this area, as well as training professional young personnel in the organization of large-scale and globally significant events in Azerbaijan.

At the opening, the names of 29 young people accepted into the COP29 Academy and selected among 360 candidates based on the results of tests and competitions were announced.

COP29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev and Chief Operating Officer for COP29 Azerbaijan Narmin Jarchalova attended the event.

Mukhtar Babayev congratulated the young people admitted to the Academy and wished them success in their future activities in the fight against climate change.

Having provided detailed information about the selection stage and the educational program of the COP29 Academy, Narmin Jarchalova noted that the educational process at the academy will continue until the beginning of September.

High-achieving COP29 Academy participants will serve in various roles within the Operating Company and will participate in the organization of the COP29 event as full-time employees.
