Constitutional Court chairman: Rights and safety of Armenian residents of Karabakh will be ensured

The rights and security of the Armenian residents of Karabakh will be ensured in accordance with the Constitution of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev said in an article, according to Report.

The article notes that the Constitution of Azerbaijan guarantees equality of rights and freedoms for everyone, regardless of ethnic, religious and linguistic affiliation.

"Guided by this provision of the fundamental law, our state always applies an equal approach towards various ethnic peoples living on the territory of Azerbaijan. One of the pressing issues is related to the process of integration of the Armenian residents of Karabakh into Azerbaijani society. In this regard, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in his speeches repeatedly emphasized that this issue is an internal matter of the Azerbaijani state, the rights and security of the Armenian population of Karabakh will be ensured in accordance with the Constitution of the country," the article says.
