CEC Chairman: No refusal for election observers in Azerbaijan

People who want to observe the elections in Azerbaijan are not refused, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) Mazahir Panahov said, Report informs.

Speaking at today’s meeting held at the Central Election Commission for the heads of precinct election commissions, Panahov noted that anyone who wants to participate in the elections as an observer can apply to the precinct election commissions and CEC.

“Media organizations ensure transparency in elections. Azerbaijan is the only country in the world where media organizations do not need to receive permission from any institution to observe the elections and cover the process. It is enough for them to show their press card to observe the elections,” he added.
