The founding conference of the Global South NGO Platform will be held in Baku on April 28, according to Aygun Aliyeva, Executive Director of the Azerbaijani Agency for State Support to NGOs, Report informs.
Aliyeva made the announcement at a press conference dedicated to the 4-year activity of the organization.
She noted that representatives from nearly 100 countries will come together at the conference.
"At the same time, this year it is planned to hold the Cooperation Forum of Azerbaijani NGOs in Khankandi. Thus, activities in the liberated territories will be strengthened," the director noted.
Aliyeva also recalled that the agency has started implementing regional-scale projects: "In March 2025, Baku hosted a forum of Turkmen NGOs from Iraq, Syria, and Türkiye.”
“Turkmen civil society representatives, who also visited Karabakh and Eastern Zangaur during the forum, left Azerbaijan with high impressions. As a continuation of the expanded activities with the Turkic world, it is expected that in the coming period, the first joint grant competition for Azerbaijani and Uzbek NGOs will be announced by the two brotherly states, and relevant work is being carried out in this regard," she stated.
