Baku to host bike ride on World Car Free Day

A bike ride will be organized by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Seaside National Park, COP29 Operating Company and Azerbaijan Bicycle Federation in connection with World Car Free Day on September 22, Report informs, citing the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry.

The bike ride, covering a total distance of 15 km, will be held along the Deniz Mall-Baku Aquatic Palace-Deniz Mall route.

Every year on or around September 22, cities across the globe celebrate World Car Free Day, encouraging motorists to give up their cars for a day. The event highlights the numerous benefits of going car-free—including reduced air pollution and the promotion of walking and cycling in a safer environment.
