Azerbaijani police shift to enhanced mode of operation

Azerbaijani police has shifted to an enhanced mode of operation in connection with the 15th European Youth Summer Olympic Festival.

Report informs that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has taken steps to ensure the security of the participants and guests, as well as the viewers during the competitions to continue until July 27.

The employees of the internal affairs structures will work in an enhanced mode to ensure the protection of public order and security.

For the purpose of ensuring the security, it is prohibited to use bikes, skateboards, scooters, religious and political provocative slogans, narcotic and psycotropic preparations, refrigerating boxes, picnic and large bags, hazardous and inflammable liquids and substances, any device that may harm the environment and cause public concern, alcohol drinks, animals, drink containers, any food expect for children's food, any weapons, fireworks, laser lighting, musical instruments and sound devices, video-making devices, photo cams with the objective longer than 30 cm, chairs and drones at the competition venues.

Notably, the 15th European Youth Summer Olympic Festival will start on July 21 and finish on July 27. Over 3600 athletes and technical delegations will arrive in Azerbaijan. The athletes will vie in ten kinds of sport - gymnastics, athletics, basketball, cycling, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. More than 2,500 volunteers will work at 12 sporting facilities during the Olympic festival.
