Azerbaijani police officers discovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition in liberated territories, Report informs, citing the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As a result of the search operations carried out from August 10-16, police seized 8 automatic weapons, 2 pistols, 8 rifles, 29 grenades, 24 lighters, 2 shells, 15 bayonets, 131 cartridge combs, 3,480 cartridges of various calibers, and other ammunition in Khankandi.
In the Kalbajar district, they found 1 automatic weapon, 6 grenades, 1 bayonet knife, 4 cartridge combs, and 417 cartridges of different calibers. Additionally, in the Khojaly district, they seized 1 machine gun, 1 pistol, 2 rifles, 3 shells, 1 grenade, 1 cartridge comb, and 30 cartridges of various calibers.
Meanwhile, in the Jabrayil district, police recovered 1 automatic weapon, 1 rifle, 3 cartridge combs, and 112 cartridges of different calibers.
Moreover, they found 2 automatic weapons, 1 bayonet knife, 4 cartridge combs, and 102 cartridges of various calibers in the Khojavand district.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is actively working to make these liberated areas safe.
The ongoing efforts to identify and neutralize remnants of war and other dangers continue without interruption. Cleaning the region of weapons and explosives remains a primary task for the internal affairs officers.
