Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev, met with the Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Report informs.
The meeting noted a high-level political dialogue between the two countries and emphasized the importance of the meeting between the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, held in Ashgabat on June 29.
It was stated that successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran had been carried out in various directions, especially in trade-economic, transport, energy, and cultural fields.
The role of regular contacts and mutual visits in the development of relations was highly appreciated.
The conference reported that electricity was exchanged between Azerbaijan and Iran according to the plan and the work done in the direction of connecting the electricity systems of the two countries.
At the same time, they exchanged views on the progress of the construction of Khudafarin and Giz Galasi hydro junctions and hydroelectric power plants on the Araz River, as well as several new projects.
Prospects for further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields were also discussed at the meeting.
