Azerbaijan ensures public order during elections, says Belarusian official

Azerbaijan is celebrating a truly festive day as the country holds elections for the Milli Majlis (Parliament), Sergey Khomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus said, according to Report's Karabakh bureau.

He said public order is maintained throughout the election process, and polling stations are equipped in accordance with the Electoral Code of Azerbaijan.

Khomenko noted that during his visit to Azerbaijan he had the opportunity to interact with representatives from various sectors, including the legal community, students, military personnel, and the sports community.

"Everyone was looking forward to this day as a day of sincere expression of the people's will," he noted.

Khomenko also highlighted the voters' desire to see true patriots of Azerbaijan in the parliament. "All spoke about the fact that the parliament should consist of people who are genuine patriots of Azerbaijan," he stated.

Commenting on the progress in restoring Azerbaijan's liberated territories, Khomenko found it symbolic to be present in an area that is currently being rebuilt after the military conflict.
