Attackers on SOCAR Office in Türkiye aim to tarnish Azerbaijan-Türkiye brotherhood

The true aim of those who attacked the office of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye is to tarnish and discredit the Azerbaijan-Türkiye brotherhood in Turkish public opinion, MP Vugar Isgandarov told Report, commenting on the attack by a group of radicals on the SOCAR office building in Istanbul.

Isgandarov noted that the attackers justified their actions by claiming they were in solidarity with Palestine and that SOCAR "supplies oil to Israel." However, according to some information, the radicals who committed this brutal attack are members of Iran-backed groups that have taken root in Türkiye, he said.

"It is absolutely clear that these provocateurs' claims that they are allegedly expressing solidarity with Palestine are completely false. Because SOCAR does not sell oil to Israel. This is a lie and fake news," the parliamentarian stated. He explained that all companies in the global oil market sell their goods to trading companies, and oil companies cannot control to whom the traders sell the oil.

The MP also added that all attempts by these forces are futile and will not succeed in damaging Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations.
