From November 10, 2020, to October 26, 2023, 334 Azerbaijani citizens were hit by landmines, Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, wrote on X, Report informs.
He noted that 65 out of 334 people lost their lives, and 269 people were injured: "Of the dead, 50 are civilians and 15 are soldiers. Among the wounded are 105 civilians and 164 soldiers."
Hajiyev said that since 1991, 3,413 people have been victims of landmines: "357 of them are children and teenagers, and 38 are women."
